The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has expanded its professional learning portfolio with the launch of a seven-month online Executive Programme for Chief of Staff under its Continuing Education Programme (CEP). The initiative reflects the growing demand for structured learning pathways that help experienced professionals strengthen leadership, execution and decision-making capabilities while continuing their careers.
Programme at a glance
The programme is open to graduates from any academic discipline, widening access beyond conventional management and engineering backgrounds. It focuses on the evolving responsibilities of Chief of Staff roles, particularly those involving coordination between senior leadership and organisational teams.
Key areas covered include:
- Strategic thinking and organisational planning
- Project execution and translating strategy into outcomes
- Stakeholder management and decision-making
- Business transformation and change management
- Executive leadership support
- Technology-led approaches to complex business situations
The programme will be delivered through live online sessions, supported by case studies, practical frameworks and applied learning exercises. Participants will also undertake a capstone project based on a real-world business scenario. An optional campus immersion at IIT Delhi is another feature designed to complement the online learning experience.
A wider shift in professional learning
The launch comes as higher education institutions increasingly extend beyond conventional degree programmes to address emerging workplace requirements. IIT Delhi's Continuing Education Programme has been expanding its online and professional offerings across management, technology and other specialised areas, highlighting the growing role of lifelong learning in workforce development.
For EducationToday, the programme represents a broader movement within the education sector towards flexible, industry-relevant learning models. Such programmes can enable professionals to update their capabilities without taking a career break.
TopEducationNews will continue to track how leading institutions are responding to changing workforce expectations through specialised executive education and programmes focused on strategic leadership.
